    Xbox Series X

"The most powerful Xbox console ever built."

    November 10, 2020 Xbox Series X Microsoft

    Aperçu

Microsoft released the Xbox Series X on November 10, 2020, establishing a new benchmark for home gaming performance. This flagship device packs a custom AMD Zen 2 CPU and an RDNA 2 GPU capable of 12.15 teraflops to drive native 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second. The hardware accelerates DirectX Raytracing, bringing realistic lighting and shadows to supported titles without sacrificing frame rates.

Storage speed defines the user experience here. A 1 TB custom NVMe SSD slashes load times significantly compared to traditional hard drives. Quick Resume allows players to suspend multiple games instantly and switch between them without hitting the main menu again. Smart Delivery ensures users always get the optimized version of a game whether they play on the Series X or the less powerful Series S.

The ecosystem relies heavily on backward compatibility. Thousands of titles from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One eras run better than ever with higher resolutions and steadier frame rates. At launch, the platform boasted over 100 games via Xbox Game Pass, including major releases like Madden NFL 21, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

    Gameplay

Players access a library spanning four generations of Xbox history, with newer titles tagged as Optimized for Xbox Series X|S to unlock faster loads and improved visuals. The included wireless controller features a textured grip, hybrid D-pad, and a dedicated Share button for capturing screenshots and clips. Variable refresh rate support eliminates screen tearing during fast-paced action sequences.
