Aperçu
Taro Sakamoto traded his gun for a mop after falling in love with Aoi, a cheerful clerk at the convenience store where he once worked as a hitman. He married her, had a daughter named Hana, and intentionally let himself gain weight to become unrecognizable to his former underworld associates. His quiet life as a shop owner ended abruptly when old enemies tracked him down, forcing him to defend his family using his legendary combat skills while strictly adhering to his vow never to kill again.
The series blends high-octane action with slice-of-life comedy by turning everyday items into improvised weapons. Sakamoto fights off assassins using pens, shopping carts, and household objects while managing his store and raising his child. He is joined by a found family of allies including Shin Asakura, a clairvoyant assassin and former rival; Lu Xiaotang, the daughter of a former crime boss; and Heisuke Mashimo, a sniper who helps them navigate threats from the criminal underworld.
Yuto Suzuki launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Jump on November 21, 2020. The first collected volume arrived on April 2, 2021, and the series has grown to 27 volumes as of May 2026. By August 2025, circulation exceeded 15 million copies. Viz Media publishes the English edition under their Shonen Jump imprint with translation by Camellia Nieh and lettering by Eve Grandt.
