Bill Gates on AI risk and slowing down

    par Vojtech: Bill Gates

Gates' answer on whether to pump the brakes on AI: "there is no credible proposal that makes that work." That's the line that sticks, especially given how his earlier warning played out. Go back to 1975 and you've got Microsoft getting founded, a computer on every desk as the ambition, and eventually the top spot on the wealth rankings. Fast forward to 2015 and he's telling the world a pandemic is on the way. The warning went unheeded. Then 2020 arrived. His attention sits on AI these days, and he's quoted calling it "by far the most dangerous technology ever invented" and saying "we've crossed the threshold of capability." Last time around, the alarm got ignored. Watch the clip below.
