PSA grading and the market

    par Gigliola: Collectibles

The part that gets me is a card can be doomed before it's even out of the pack. Factory centering off enough and the grade drops, so what looked like a PSA 10 comes back a 9. People crack the slab, resubmit, eat the fees again, hoping for a different number. And if one company is the final ruler on how many PSA 10s exist, that's a lot of say over the market #Collectibles

There are also people that will do things like they'll basically crack it, which means like breaking it open and sending it back, seeing if they'll get a different grade. So there's a lot of people that will do that. And that costs money every single time. I think they're banking on the fact that somebody might give it a nine, somebody else gave it an eight. Right. And that difference could be dramatic in terms of price. And so there's also people that put their tinfoil hat on a little bit and say like, OK, PSA is basically controlling the liquidity on the market, basically. Right. Of saying how many there are of different grades. if they get to be the final ruler that decides that. That's a lot of power of a lot of money, man. These seem very subjective. They always say like, oh, I should never have thrown my Pokemon cards. I'd be rich right now, right? We've talked about that a bunch of times before. But the thing is, even if you kept your cards in perfect condition, if they weren't cut perfectly from the manufacturer, they could still be like a six or a seven out of 10, which is insane to think about. So a lot of it is not even within your control as the person who's holding the card per se. it's what was the card in its form when it got to you if you enjoyed this be sure to hit that like button and follow to stay up to date with what's going on in the world and everything else memes and markets peace
