Subconscious patterns and discipline
par Katrina Karan: Self-Improvement
Unconscious repetition restricts an individual by establishing patterns in the subconscious mind. The distinction between doing something without thinking versus on purpose is what matters most here. Intentional repetition constitutes discipline, while the other path just locks you in place.

That's why Nikola Tesla would walk around a building three times before entering. What did he understand about repetition that most people ignore? Tesla recognized the power of cycles. The mind responds to rhythms and repetition. When an action is repeated with intention, it becomes a ritual. What is a ritual? A ritual is a repeated behavior charged with focus. Repetition installs patterns into the subconscious mind. What you do consistently becomes who you are. So why three times? Three represents completion of a cycle. By walking around buildings three times, Tesla was not being irrational. He was reinforcing a mental state. It was conditioning, focus, control and precision. What does this mean for you? Every repeated action programs the mind. If done unconsciously, it installs limitation. If done intentionally, it installs discipline and clarity. Tesla understood that the mind runs on cycles, just like day and night, winter and summer. Master the ritual and you become the master of your mind.
