Disney threw everything at the wall with TREASURE PLANET in 2002 mixing 2D and 3D animation while hand drawn styles were already getting pushed aside. The movie bombed commercially but the visual design has aged beautifully over time instead of fading away. That specific solar surfing sequence alone showed a level of ambition that deserved way better than what it got.
