the national chung-shan institute of science and technology (ncsist) just ran the first test on a solid-fuel rocket meant for launching satellites. the steering system failed mid-flight and the trajectory went crazy. media footage shows an object streaking across a bright blue sky with a white contrail above a green hillside, a failure described as spectacular.
