Lionel Messi and the boots he cleaned himself

Reaching the very top takes more than talent. That's the part people skip past. You also need to hold onto your humility, your essence, and a genuine love for football from its roots, and Messi is the example I keep coming back to. Six Ballon d'Or awards, six Golden Boots, Barcelona's all-time top scorer and the man with the most appearances for the club. Any club employee would have cleaned his boots if he'd asked. He did it himself. A giant on the pitch, and a giant off it too.
