    🎮Street Fighter🎮Mortal Kombat🏛️CinemaScore

StreetFighter opening day box office and B- CinemaScore

A $13 million opening day in the US puts StreetFighter at the top of its own franchise, and only MortalKombat2 has ever posted a bigger first day among films adapted from fighting games, at $16.8 million. THU previews fed $4 million into that total. One day of this outgrosses the whole opening weekend of every earlier StreetFighter movie, more than double. Where it gets shaky is the room itself. Mixed word-of-mouth landed it a B- CinemaScore, which is a rough grade for anything PG-13, so a quick fade is a real possibility. Tracking has the three-day US figure somewhere in the $30 million to $35 million window. Hit that and it sits second all time domestically for the fighting game genre, while making 1994's StreetFighter ($6.9 million) and 2009's TheLegendofChunLi ($4.7 million) look like pocket change by comparison. Numbers say yes, buzz says maybe. www.cinemascore.com
