Barnabé Kikaya Bin Karubi, the former diplomatic advisor to Joseph Kabila, is calling for the immediate implementation of the Citizen Pact that the former president presented on May 23, 2025. This document outlines twelve specific commitments designed to resolve the crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The first commitment calls for ending tyranny while the second requires restoring the rule of law. National reconciliation is the focus of the third point and the fourth seeks the withdrawal of foreign troops. An end to the use of mercenaries is demanded by the fifth commitment and the sixth aims to restore democracy.
