Shakira Piqué Barcelona Court October 6

The custody logistics for Milan and Sasha are back before a judge in Barcelona, with Shakira and Gerard Piqué showing up this Tuesday, October 6. The court session focused on the arrangement established after their split, according to the artist's legal team. While Shakira is currently in Madrid for her concert season, her side requested fewer short-duration trips between Miami and Barcelona for the kids. She lives with them in Miami, and he resides in Barcelona, so the goal is to cut down those frequent transatlantic hops. Their lawyers explained the measure aims to "protect the emotional, physical, and academic well-being" of the children. Instead of the boys traveling constantly, Shakira proposes that Piqué comes to Miami during shorter vacation periods. This way, the kids can "maintain their school, social, and family routines for longer," which her team says is better for everyone. It was also stressed that the request "does not intend to reduce the time the children spend with their father." For context, they started dating in 2011 and lived mostly in Barcelona for over a decade before announcing their separation in June 2022. They have two sons, Milan born in 2013 and Sasha born in 2015. A few months after the split, an agreement was reached where Shakira moved to Miami with the children while Piqué retained visitation rights including specific days per month and vacation periods.
