Mick Foley discusses women's wrestling emotion

Mick Foley explains why he started gravitating toward women's wrestling around 2015 after his kids called him down to watch Paige on NXT. He admits he has no scientific basis for the observation but feels the women wear their hearts on their sleeves more than men do. In his view, male wrestlers still operate with a stoic tough guy mentality where performers take hard slaps and forearms yet act like they aren't being hit, which seems downright silly to him. This business should be emotional instead of pretending not to feel pain. He points to seeing Terry Funk weeping during interviews in Japan during the late 70s and early 80s as proof that displaying emotion made a wrestler tougher rather than less so. The sweat mixing with tears and blood created something compelling that didn't diminish his toughness at all. That is why he finds himself enjoying women's wrestling more because there is simply more raw emotion on display compared to the guys who keep everything hidden behind a stoic mask. The commentary came from an appearance on The Mick and Kenny Show.
