Tom Holland on Timothée Chalamet Spider-Man Dune

Timothée Chalamet read for Marvel twice as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming before Tom Holland landed the role, yet he later described leaving that audition sweating in a total panic and wishing to re-read the scenes. Holland, who relied on gymnastics and dance training from Billy Elliot the Musical during his own physical screen test, noted that Chalamet would have brought significant emotion to the part as a more brooding version of Spider-Man. When asked about the casting outcome, Holland suggested Timothée Chalamet would have been a great Spider-Man if he had secured the role, then joked that perhaps he received the Dune role because Chalamet did not get Spider-Man.
