Despite a bit frontloaded, His R-rated game adaptation ResidentEvil  grossed Franchise RECORD 26.3M on FRI Opening Day (vs MortalKombat2’s 16.8M, FiveNightsAtFreddys2’s 30M, TheConjuringLastRites’s 34.7M), including 8.8M THU Previews. That’s already almost 10M more than previous instalment WelcomeToRaccoonCity’s entire 17M run domestically! It’s also a record Opening Day for ZachCregger, crushing Weapons’s 18.2M FRI Opening Day! Despite ResidentEvil’s Opening Day being way more frontloaded by Previews than FiveNightsAtFreddys2 & TheConjuringLastRites as I suspected, it should still crush projections, Eyeing an SPECTACULAR 58M-63M 3-day Opening Weekend, what would mean potentially crushing the entire domestic runs of every single previous ResidentEvil Movie domestically, and coming way above the current 40M-50M expected by the industry.
