Tom Aspinall eye injury update

Tom Aspinall's road back just got longer, and Ariel Helwani laid out exactly how long. The right eye took a shot in training and the damage essentially sent him back to square one. That's the phrase that came out of it. When he got in to see the eye doctor, the scans on that right eye came back very bad. He'd already been prepared to give up the belt for more than three weeks, and the new injury itself landed weeks ago. Now everything points to January 2027, when he goes back to the doctor and finds out whether it's good news or he's looking at a fourth surgery overall. That would make three procedures on the right eye alone. Aspinall says he's hopeful about getting back in the cage in 2027, but he also knows there's no rushing this. Wild to think about what one training session can do.
