The WB curse really made even SandraBullock sweat, as PracticalMagic2 ends up heavily frontloaded and 10M below industry projections, but still grossed almost 3x 1998 PracticalMagic’s entire 13.1M 3-day weekend at US BoxOffice! The spooky comedy sequel also starring NicoleKidman grossed solid 30M on 3-day Opening weekend (vs#MeanGirls’ 28.6M, TheLostCity’s 30.4M, WutheringHeights’ 32.8M, TheProposal’s 33.6M, JungleCruise’s 35M) Way below industry’s 40M-50M projections, but still strong for the genre - and definitely stronger considering the original’s performance back in the day. And still one of the biggest debuts in both actresses’ careers.
