Albert Einstein skipped numerous university mathematics courses, deeming them superfluous. Marcel Grossmann, Einstein's friend, maintained detailed notes during those classes. Einstein sought mathematical assistance from Grossmann while formulating the general theory of relativity. The relationship between Albert Einstein and Marcel Grossmann facilitated Einstein's later work.
