The fact that TheOdyssey was shot entirely in IMAX format is finally paying off harder than even ChristopherNolan expected, since this EPIC film will become the ONLY movie in history to hit $500 million globally from IMAX screens alone. It just smashed an all-time record with $486 million cumulative global IMAX gross by its eighth weekend, breaking down to $279 million overseas and $207 million from the U.S. That performance already beats Avatar's entire IMAX run by a massive $210 million margin, dethroning the previous record holder that held the title for over 15 years. This current year is already the biggest in IMAX history and there is still so much more coming.
