Terrible holiday for A24, as AdamWingard new R-rated horror sci-fi Onslaught starring AdriaArjona, received with mixed WOM & a C Cinemascore, is DOA at US BoxOffice, after grossing timid 1.8M on 3-day opening weekend, debuting out of this weekend’s Top10. Yeah, that’s almost 1M less the Akira’s rerelease, despite being available in 2.5M more theatres. The film, with a 15M production price tag not including marketing, may join the category of cheap to make movies which weren’t cheap enough to recoup costs theatrically.
