Storm uncovers hidden grave in Rochester cemetery

A storm in New York has revealed a long-buried grave that had been hidden for more than 100 years. On June 18, strong winds tore through Rochester, uprooting a massive Norway maple tree in Mount Hope Cemetery. When the roots ripped out of the earth, they exposed a gravestone that had been concealed beneath the soil for over a century. The headstone belongs to John D. Allen's wife, dated 1838,1892, and was found partially tilted and unearthed amid the fallen tree's splintered trunk and exposed roots.
