A new ranking of the all-time greatest World Cup captains has been making the rounds. Compiled by Data of Statistics, the list places Brazil's Cafu at number one for his 2002 triumph (he was also part of the 1994 squad). Lionel Messi comes in second for captaining Argentina to glory in 2022, followed by Diego Maradona (1986) in third.
