@jolyonConnor Nelson got out of the USS Abraham Lincoln's deployment early, one of the few who did. The rest of the strike group stayed out there past 250 consecutive days, flying combat missions tied to the Iran war, with thousands of sailors on board for it. Ten months. That's how long Nelson's stretch away from home ran. His apartment sat in California the whole time, waiting for him. What he came back to: no car in the spot where he left it. The front door gave way with a push. Inside, his place had been torn through, thousands of dollars in stuff gone. His TV. His laptop. His shoes. His fishing gear. All of it. He's one of the guys who got to leave the ship before the rest of them, and when he finally made it to his own front step, someone had already been through everything he owned. That's the part that sits wrong. Ten months out there, then this. Source: NY Post / Writer: Oliver

    À propos de cette photo

Four men are posing in front of a fighter jet on what appears to be an aircraft carrier deck. The mood is casual and proud. The man on the far left wears a flight suit, while the others are in t-shirts and cargo pants. The jet has the number 400 on its side. Text on the jet reads: CAPT WILLIAM P. FRANK, TANK, CAG. A small vehicle with "GPMM" visible is in the background.
