    ByAnyMeans box office crash

@rogers_jamieParamount's ByAnyMeans, the action thriller starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Mark Wahlberg that opened September 4 with a B+ CinemaScore, is facing a rough patch at the US BoxOffice. Even though a small group of viewers gave it positive word-of-mouth, the film underperformed significantly. The gross in its second three-day weekend landed at 2.5 million dollars, representing a steep 67.2% drop from the opening weekend total. This decline nearly pushed the movie out of the top ten rankings. After ten days on release, the cumulative total reached just 13.5 million dollars against a production budget of 29 million dollars, not counting marketing costs. To recover financially, the film will have to depend on international markets and strong domestic performance. Current projections estimate a final United States run between 17 million and 18 million dollars.

The image is a movie poster featuring two men. The man on the left is wearing a suit and tie with a badge, holding a gun. The man on the right is wearing a tank top and sunglasses, holding a baseball bat. The poster has a dramatic, cinematic mood. Visually notable is the stark black and yellow color scheme and the intense expressions on the men's faces. ON-SCREEN TEXT: THE FBI COULDN'T CRACK IT. SO THEY CALLED IN THE MOB. BY ANY MEANS BASED ON A TRUE STORY YAHYA ABDUL-MATEEN II MARK WAHLBERG ONLY IN THEATRES SEPTEMBER 4 B+ CinemaScore #CinemaScore www.cinemascore.com
