@jolyonItaly appointed Mykhailo Fedorov, the former Ukrainian defense minister who was removed by Volodymyr Zelensky in July, as an innovation advisor. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto met with him in Rome to discuss unmanned systems and air defense, focusing on the exact area of expertise Fedorov previously managed in Ukraine. While Ukraine has developed the capability to rapidly build and deploy low-cost aircraft for combat, Fedorov will not relocate to Italy and continues to advocate for a Ukrainian defense fund. The Italian defense chief contacted Fedorov the day after his dismissal. European nations are acquiring war lessons incrementally while Italy secured direct instruction.
