@FootynewsLuka Modrić recalls his national team coach telling him his job against Argentina was going to be difficult. He just laughed and said sure, it's a tough match against a great side, but they're used to that, nothing to stress about. The coach still looked confused. Modrić didn't understand why until he stepped on the pitch and saw Riquelme. That was the source of the fear. What he admired most was how Riquelme would visually scan the whole field every time he had the ball, looking for a pass to break pressure or set up a goal. He ran with the ball in a weird way and could make Modrić fall right in front of him, then glide by like it was nothing. Riquelme was a great player.
