RAM prices rising due to AI demand

@fightdeskAI demand is supposedly pushing tech forward, but it's also making RAM prices climb hard for everyone. Laptops are shipping with less RAM to keep costs down, smartphones are getting pricier with lower-end models cutting RAM and storage, and future consoles might face delays or reduced VRAM to save money. Mid-range GPUs are likely to stay at 8GB VRAM. A $1000 PC build in 2025 could include 32GB of DDR5 RAM, but now 32GB of DDR4 costs more than that did back then. If prices keep rising, it's going to get worse for every consumer electronic with memory.

This is a line graph showing the average price of DDR4-3600 2x16GB RAM over the last 18 months. The graph displays a significant price increase starting around October 2025, peaking in early 2026, and then gradually declining. The mood is informative and data-driven, with a clean, technical aesthetic. A notable detail is the PCPartPicker logo in the bottom right corner. ON-SCREEN TEXT: DDR4-3600 2x16GB (Average price in USD over last 18 months) Average RAM Price (USD) Over Last 18 Months (DDR4-3600 2x16GB) – pcpartpicker.com * Amazon pricing is not included in price trends graphs.
